All passes are simultaneous
Everyone passes at the same time — face down, pushed to the next player, then all reveal together.
Never pass a Joker
Jokers can never be passed in any Charleston round — passing one is a serious violation.
Blind pass means no looking
Where a blind pass is allowed, you may pass 1 to 3 just-received tiles without looking at them. A normal Charleston pass is still 3 tiles.
After all Charleston passes
After the Charleston, there's an optional Courtesy Pass: only with the player across from you, exchanging 0–3 tiles. Both of you agree on the same number.
